APPLE! JUICY! Anthony’s favorite two words while we explored Bishop’s Orchard a few weeks back. I loved capturing this little guy in action and his smile is infectious. Thanks for letting me tag along! Be sure to check out the amazing photos from the day over at Katie Slater’s blog HERE.
Ok, so a little more behind the scenes from my Costa Rica trip. It seems that at least where we were staying, the nice manicured beaches are all privately owned and protected from us ‘intruders’ but our good friend (and the model from my last Costa Rica film) Carol Bikker hooked us up and found us an awesome secret beach. Only problem was the road to get there was sort of non existent, as in we would get one car in, it would fall apart, they would rebuild it and then the next car would arrive a few hours later. Needless to say, I was in the first car so I could shoot everyone setting up which was great…. until I started fading. I’m clearly not Bear Gryllis and I don’t do well without water to drink when I’m carrying around all my gear. Halfway through the day people were offering me their granola bars and making sure I was still coherent… So while this film might seem dreamy, I can’t take all the credit – because my head was in the clouds a bit too.
That being said, this beach ended up being an amazing locale to shoot at, you can’t beat that tree hanging over the shore and the amazing backdrop. Our good friend Max LaManna was on hand to model (and carry heavy stuff) and of course we had some great paper to shoot, the always amazing floral work from Tony Palmieri, Beth Chapman with her gorgeous Anne Barge and Jenny Yoo dresses, and Candice Coppola and her team who dragged tables, pillows and everything under the sun through the woods and over the bridge (really just a log) to get it on to the beach for us. I’m always honored to work beside Carla Ten Eyck when she’s shooting and on this shoot I also got to work with Sara Code-Krall and Katie Slater, both of whom rock. D.D. Nickel put together the girls and made them look even more amazing and I of course have to mention Diana, Lindsey and Dodie who were there for everyone – helping things go smoothly and making everything happen!
Well, enough behind the scenes and story telling…. Go ahead and watch it!![]()

While this isn’t the usual style I work in, I couldn’t resist working on this project with Carla Ten Eyck and her studio! Everyone over at Carla’s studio really chipped in and helped make this happen. They were all such good sports about all the silly things I asked them to do.
Carla and her husband Dave decided to get all their friends together and renew their vows this summer. In the process of putting that together, we thought it would be a great opportunity to show how Carla’s unique team is able to not only work so well together, but also play together!
We couldn’t have pulled this together without the help of our friends!

Well, I’ve been sitting on these films for a while and this is the first of 5 films I made back in November of last year. I’m super excited to finally start sharing these with everyone. I hope you enjoy them.
The story goes like this: I somehow stepped into an extremely lucky situation last year, which involved me traveling to Costa Rica with some amazingly talented friends. I’ve worked as part of many creative teams over the years and I’ve never seen a group this big, work this hard, out in the sun and heat and never, ever, lose their cool. Everyone brought their A-game and was truly dedicated to what they did. I’m thoroughly impressed with the work they created here and I was honored to be there to capture it in motion.
This first film was what we decided to do on our one day off. Well, some of us. My original plan was to sit in the pool all day since we had just come off 3 days straight of shooting from dawn til dusk. When I saw what D.D.Nickel had whipped up and that Tony was building a bolero out of live flowers – I had to tag along and shoot it. I’m so glad I did.

This spring I was lucky enough to return to the Ocean House in Watch Hill, RI to create a wedding film for Christine & Tommy. They were a gorgeous couple and their kids made the day extra special. I always love working beside Carla Ten Eyck and this was no exception, and Tony Palmieri from Datura, A Modern Garden delivered the goods as usual with his truly unique floral arrangements. With Jennie Fresa on makeup and The White Dress by the Shore providing a beautiful dress, you can’t go wrong.
